Investors eye market return

Jessica Darnbrough

Investors have been given the green light to buy again and will soon return to the property market, according to APM's chief economist Andrew Wilson.

Mr Wilson told Real Estate Business that investors have waited on the sidelines long enough and are ready to make their mark on the property market once again.

“If you look at the stats, the number of housing commitments for investors fell right off at the end of last year. However, I now expect this to turn around,” Mr Wilson said.

“Investors are starting to get a sense that we have hit the bottom of the property market. They understand that prices will soon begin to rise and they are keen to snap up a bargain while they can.

“For the past few months, the investor traffic light has been flashing red – however, it is about to turn green very soon.”
