Panos and McGrath podcast hits number one

A weekly podcast by two of real estate’s biggest names, leading speaker Tom Panos and CEO of McGrath Estate Agents John McGrath, has become the number one downloaded business podcast on the iTunes Store.

Launched at the start of this month, Million Dollar Agent Podcast provides insights and strategies on how agents can grow their real estate sales business and become a seven-figure attraction agent.

Three episodes have already been released on iTunes, and they currently hold the top three spots in the Top Episodes rankings for business podcasts. The podcast itself has also made it to the top 10 list of Top Podcasts. 

Speaking exclusively to Real Estate Business, Mr Panos said, “The ability to have a conversation with an audience on a weekly basis that’s authentic, that’s useful, that hasn’t got any conditions in it made me realise that I myself am a user of podcasts.

“I like the concept of being able to drive and listen on my iPhone. I like the concept of knowing that other people have gone down my path before and to hear what it is they’ve learnt about the dos, the don’ts and technology today. We’re talking about having a message and it’s very cost effective to have a huge audience of people, so podcast was to me just a very easy vehicle to have an ongoing relationship with a group of people that I now speak with face to face or through social media. It’s just another voice now.”

Mr McGrath said the intention of the podcast was to make it incredibly practical for agents who listened to it.

“They can listen, take away and do it that day, so it’s not about incredible global theories; it’s about here’s something you can do in your time management; here’s something you can do in your next listing presentation; when your next negotiation hits, here are three things you can remember,” he said.

Mr McGrath said he and Mr Panos would continue producing them so long as agents kept listening.

“I think that there’ll be some classics that people want to go back to. Sometimes there’ll be changes that are happening in the industry that we’ll talk about that are more topical,” he said. “We’ll keep talking while people keep listening, and we want to do it every week or two so that there’s a bit of consistency and continuity in it.”
