He’s been in the business for 10 years and consistently ranks at the front end of the REB Top 100 Agents ranking, so how does ace agent Dib Chidiac, owner of Sydney’s DIB CHIDIAC Real Estate, stay motivated?
Simple, he said. It’s the thrill of the fight, the new challenge, that keeps him keen.
“Before I was just a salesperson with a team of three assistants, and we we’re constantly ranked as the number one agent in the previous network,” Mr Chidiac told REB.
“But there was only so much growth. Where now, I get to run a business with my wife, who controls all the admin side of things, and I focus on mentoring all our employees. I now also tap into property management and other aspects of the business. My motivation is the challenge, the different responsibilities and growth within our business.”
Mr Chidiac said he has a particular method of staying upbeat during cooling markets.
“I’m always reviewing my targets and goals, looking at long term rather than short,” he said.
“And I’m always talking to my mentors, asking questions and getting advice which helps me overcome anything in our way. I’m in really early, I ensure I hit my daily targets and I’m always reviewing the way I do things.”
Mr Chidiac said he prepares for listings presentations now that the markets are a little tougher the same as he always has.
“Nothing has really changed; if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. I’m always fully prepared. We do, however, ensure that we demonstrate to the potential vendor that we’re the safest option in our marketplace given we have been selling the most — all at great prices.”
Mr Chidiac placed 21st in the REB Top 100 Agents ranking for 2019, with 86 sales and a total of $140 million total sales made at an average sales price of $1.6 million.
