Principals, PMs target of generational debate

08 March 2013 Stacey Moseley

At this year’s Leading Property Managers of Australia (LPMA) conference the age-old debate between the generations will be answered - who is a better communicator?

According to LPMA executive director Bob Walters, bridging the generational gap can be difficult for some.

“Our delegates regard being able to communicate effectively a core skill they want to learn, especially communicating effectively with the different generations,” Mr Walters told Residential Property Manager.

“We will have three expert property managers from three different generations coming to speak on stage in an onstage interview.”

Cameron Ewers, from Pure Leasing Central in Western Australia will represent Gen Y, Lauren Cail from Hodge in Victoria will be talking on behalf of Gen X and Karen Herbert from Position One in Brisbane will represent the baby boomers.

According to Mr Walters, in the ‘Crossing the Generation Gap’ section of the conference the three representatives from each generation will discuss how they communicate effectively across all three generations.

Other sessions at the conference include 'Protecting your Business', 'How to Win New Business and Beat the Fee Question', 'New Altitudes in Customer Service' and 'From Good to Great to Spectacular!'

This year’s LPMA conference will be held at Jupiter's Hotel and Casino on the Gold Coast on Thursday, April 18 and Friday, April 19.
