Controversial PM lands reality TV show

19 June 2013 Stacey Moseley

Real estate’s most controversial property manager has claimed she will soon have her own reality television show.

Hayley Marley-Duncan, principal of Marley Duncan Real Estate in Gawler in Adelaide, shot to fame when she was featured on Channel 7's Today Tonight television program, where she was shown shoving tenants, swearing at police and abusing the tribunal. And now she claims she is set to have her own series on subscription television station, Foxtel.

According to Ms Marley Duncan, after her stint on the current affairs program she received overwhelming support and interest from across the country.

“Yes, some people hate me, but a majority of people love me.” she told Residential Property Manager.

“So all these people that said something about me can just sit back and enjoy the show.

“All the other real estate agents aren’t doing their job. They act as if they are upstanding citizens but they are not. I am the most ethical person you will ever meet,” she continued.

“I have run my business for seven years and before that I tripled the rent rolls of all the people I worked for.

“If you give me aggression, you will get it back, if you get in my face or push me, I will push you back. So get over it,” she wrote on Residential Property Manager's website.

According to Ms Marley-Duncan, the series will feature herself managing her large rent roll.

“Last time you saw me dealing with some other agent’s tenants, but this time you will see me dealing with tenants that I have put in the properties, so they’ll do the right thing because I go in and get the job done,” she explained.

Ms Marley-Duncan’s unconventional conduct has divided the industry, with some property managers applauding her for her tough-love approach while others are shocked by her antics.

One commentator recently added, “If you can produce good quality results for your client without exposing them to further risks than needed, why would you? Aggression is a sign of weakness.”

Foxtel were unable to comment about the show.
