Tens of thousands of renters have signed up for rent.com.au’s Renter Resume service within the first 100 days of its launch.
In the 100 days that the online service has been available, 50,000 Australian renters have created Renter Resumes.
Rent.com.au CEO Greg Bader believes the user sign-up is proof there is a gap in the market.
“Our Renter Resume is a unique product that helps both the renter and the property manager,” Mr Bader said.
“Obvious, benefits are the automated inquiry and application processes but it is much more than that. It allows renters to better present themselves, including references, pets etc. It really gives them a headstart in what is often a competitive process.”
Renter Resume was launched in October 2016 and allows tenants to create a profile that enables them to apply for properties online, even while they are at an inspection. The service is connected to the listings on rent.com.au.
Users of Renter Resume say the service makes it easier for them to apply for properties.
“Fantastic product, makes it easy because you don’t have to fill in heaps of forms. You fill it once and it’s all there for you to inquire and apply for properties. My wife and I are moving into our new home on Friday, Rent.com.au not only helped us to find our property, they also helped us with the bond financing and connecting our utilities before we move in,” user Daniel Lawrence wrote in a review.
Meanwhile, Mr Bader said almost one in three Australians rent, and the country needs to ditch the “stigma around renting”.
“RENT’s objective is to make the process of renting less intimidating, less complicated and less stressful for all parties within the renting sector,” he said.
“This is only the start, our Resume will build over time and our objective is to quickly get to a point where quality renters can be rewarded for their good standing. All landlords want to a great tenant and we can show that.”
