Realestate.com.au has opened a built-for-purpose office in one of Australia’s most strategically important geographies, as it positions itself to take advantage of the current property turnaround there.

The property portal has moved its Perth headquarters into a newly expanded and “home-styled” office in Subiaco.

The office will house a growing workforce of REA Group staff across all of the residential, developer and commercial disciplines. It will also have the ability to host training sessions and other events to support customers in the West Australian market.

REA Group executive general manager – residential Andrew Rechtman said that it is an important development in the group’s combined growth strategy.

“REA has a strong commitment to the WA market, and we’re excited to have a new space where customers can come to gain market insights, host their own events and experience the future of digital property advertising in Australia,” the GM said.

“It’s no secret that the recent past has been a challenging time for the WA property market, but as the market begins to turn around, our expanded presence in Perth will allow us to better support and service all of our customers.”

Mr Rechtman said that the design of the new office has been comprehensively thought through.

“Like all our offices, the Perth workplace was designed around principles of lean and agile, creating an environment that is transparent, offers variety to staff and visitors and one that encourages collaboration.”

The office mirrors the design of other REA Group spaces around Australia, with a focus on flexible working and creative environments.

REA Group offices are designed to accommodate agile ways of working, equipped with lockers for staff, sit-to-stand desks and open spaces for team meetings.

The new office has an urban industrial feel, and popular Western Australian landmarks adorn the walls and double as names for meeting and quiet rooms.

Designed by architect Peddle Thorp, the office also features a virtual reality space as well as a new innovation and technology hub, which showcases the latest in tech.
