The Real Women in Real Estate networking group, which has expanded rapidly to now include more than 2,000 members nationally, will celebrate a key milestone on 1 June when it holds its 50th Catch Up with the Property Girls event on the Gold Coast.

The founder of the initiative, Laing+Simmons managing director and president of the REINSW Leanne Pilkington, said the networking night will be the perfect precursor to the AREC event on the Gold Coast which kicks off the following day.

“Real Women in Real Estate has always been about supporting, empowering and encouraging all women working in the industry, irrespective of their position, experience or career objectives,” Ms Pilkington said.

“With AREC taking place the next morning, we welcome all women headed to the Gold Coast to join us for the Catch Up with the Property Girls event, help us celebrate the milestone and give themselves a boost in motivation for the days ahead.

“We have reached over 2,000 members nationally and we’re about to celebrate our 50th event, so the appetite for the initiative is clearly strong and our network continues to grow and evolve in terms of how we can support each other.”

Guest speakers for the evening include general manager of Di Jones Real Estate Kylie Walsh and leadership and mindset specialist Tanya M Jones, who is a co-founder of the Real Women in Real Estate initiative.

Ms Pilkington said the theme for the evening is “50 Reasons Why We Need to be Celebrating Women in Real Estate!”

“Tickets are just $40 including drinks and canapés, so everyone interested in coming along is encouraged to book their place here.

“Among its many support initiatives, Real Women in Real Estate provides free public speaking training and an ‘open mic’ spot at each event to support those less confident in the public speaking arena, as well as providing new job and career path prospects, young female entrepreneur programs and other personal and professional development opportunities.”

The Real Women in Real Estate initiative is a finalist in the Women’s Community Program of the Year category at the upcoming REB Women in Real Estate Awards 2019.
