As firefighters continue to work around the clock to extinguish the flames, efforts continue to get more groups involved in Beyond the Bricks.
Ray White’s Lisa Pennell told Real Estate Business it is about pulling together and supporting a good cause.
To get more people involved, a new feature has been added to the campaign website that allows agents and offices to set up their own fundraiser as part of the campaign.
Although real estate is a competitive industry, there are a lot of times when the industry can come together and add a lot of value, Richardson & Wrench managing director Andrew Cocks said.
“We have been working both locally and as a network to support the bushfire efforts,” he said.
Offices in the Richardson & Wrench network were caught up in bushfires, and Mr Cocks has visited many to see how his teams have been affected.
“We are spending time with them, and we have made offers to support and help them,” he said.
Some of the offices have fallen in exclusion areas, while agents have had fires licking their back fence.
“We are dealing with landlords, tenants and vendors,” Mr Cocks said.
“One property one of our offices was going to list is no longer there, so we are working with the vendor on that.”
Although these are very personal and emotional issues to deal with, the agency is taking a person-to-person and office-to-office approach to help to assist the teams.
“Engaging in communication and sharing ideas [are] beneficial to everyone involved,” he said.
