In a bid to expand its auction training and support program, one of Australia’s largest real estate groups has appointed a new head of auctions Australia and a national auctions operations manager.
Harcourts Australia has now formed a Harcourts Auction division, helmed by Christian Hamilton as head of auctions Australia and national auctions operations manager Sam Hinshelwood.
“We are pleased to announce the expansion of our auction offering with key Harcourts team members to lead this initiative,” said Harcourts Group Australia CEO Marcus Williams.
He called it a “strategic move” by the business “to ensure our sales consultants have industry-leading training around the auction process as well as the necessary support in making the Harcourts experience the finest in real estate”.
According to the network, Mr Hamilton’s focus will be on the ongoing professional development of sales consultants within the Harcourts network. It will also see him working with the Harcourts Academy to create a series of sales and auction trainings, workshops and webinars.
Commenting on his new role, Mr Hamilton said: “It is great to be able to formally take our auctions training and leadership program national.”
The head of auctions Australia was formerly the chief auctioneer and head academy trainer for Harcourts Queensland, and holds licences to call auctions across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
“And to have Sam come back to the corporate team after a successful stint with a Harcourts franchise office means we have world-class operations as a foundation for success,” he said.
Mr Hinshelwood kicked off his real estate career in 2016 as operations manager for Harcourts Queensland.
He went on to become a team member of a Brisbane-based Harcourts franchise, before taking up his new role as national auctions operations manager.
