Agents speak out against recent legislation and slam rogue agents that push the industry into disrepute.
Virginia Judge seems to have forgotten, (probably too young) what happened when the smartest treasurer in the world, Mr Keating, decided to remove tax initiatives/depreciation etc, on investment properties. The market collapsed overnight. The investors sold [their properties] and the housing/rental market went into a tailspin. The smartest treasurer had to reinstate, the tax benefits to stabilise the market. These socialistic Buffoons...never learn!!! Murray McKnight
Come on people, I have been selling real estate for 18 years and to fill in a few extra forms [and pay a] little more attention to detail is not a problem. Let’s not get carried away. Eddy Boehm
What a total waste of time, money and energy. This comes from an agent who has been in the industry for almost 12 years working in one of the most regulated real estate states in Australia –Victoria. Next they will be asking the seller to declare whether the owners are smokers or non-smokers due to the harmful chemical residue which could remain in the dwelling. Greg Wittmann
This has been a requirement in the UK for several years. Perhaps this legislation is a copy of the UK laws. A new industry has [been] developed for Engineers and Consultants to establish efficiency factors for Electricity, Heating, Cooling etc. When I was [in the United Kingdom] in 2007 I did wonder if this would catch on and it appears to have done so. Paul Brady
I feel harsh penalties such as life bans for rogue agents is the key to dealing with these agents. I feel this deals with the problem, instead of penalising the good agents with very costly and in my opinion time wasting red tape. Nathan Cardow
