Victorian real estate group hockingstuart has launched a free app that showcases reviews of the garden state’s entertainment, dining and shopping destinations.

‘Little Red App’, which is available on the iPhone and iPad, features shops, bars, eateries, upcoming events and even iconic landmarks, said hockingstuart CEO Nigel O'Neil.

“If you want to familiarise yourself with a new area or if you're simply looking for something fun to do, Little Red App has something for everyone - it's a great resource for agents and consumer alike.”

The group's new app comes as figures show the rate of app development continues to surge. An article in Information Week said Apple has around 425,000 applications for the iPhone in its app store, while in mid-July Google said it had about 250,000 applications in the android market.

Little Red App will be updated monthly and features content from hockingstuart's property and lifestyle guide, Red Magazine.

Little Red App is a one-stop-shop with reviews, pictures, contact details, one-tap calling and website access.

'The Little Red App' is available to download free from iTunes.
