LJ Hooker has launched a website aimed at helping Australian property owners, investors and renters make sense of sustainability and property.

“The Liveability website is an initiative that supports Australians to live the life they want sustainably – informing consumers of ways that they can potentially save themselves money through energy and water efficiency,” said L. Janusz Hooker, chief executive of LJ Hooker.

“LJ Hooker sells 40,000 properties a year – we want to give Australians access to reliable and useful information about the ongoing running costs for homes.

“We believe public awareness on issues affecting Australian property buyers, sellers and renters such as home energy efficiency are important and need to be addressed.

“We are setting the foundation with a website for consumers to get the resources they need to make the right decisions for them and their home.”

The exclusive media partner for Liveability is Domain.

Tony Blamey, general manager, real estate at Fairfax Media, said he was pleased to partner with LJ Hooker.

“LJ Hooker through Liveability is providing quality information and resources that help Australian’s make better choices around sustainability now and into the future,” he said.

LJ Hooker’s knowledge partners include Bond University School of Sustainable Development, Australian Institute of Architects, Master Builders Green Living, Australian Association of Sustainable Building Assessors, and Alternative Technology Association.

LJ Hooker also acknowledged the support of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).

The LJ Hooker Residential Property Liveability Index, in association with Bond University, is also available on the site for consumers to share their thoughts, opinions and ideas about their home energy and water efficiency.
