Realestate.co.nz will replace REA Group’s specialist New Zealand commercial property site, realcommercial.co.nz, as part of a new partnership deal between the two companies.

“The number one overseas market of visitors to the primecommercial.co.nz site is Australia, with Australian visitors representing one in 12 of all traffic over the past year,” said CEO of realestate.co.nz, Alistair Helm.

“That interest is going to grow significantly in the next year.”

As of this month, REA Group, operators of realestate.com.au and realcommercial.com.au, have ceased to operate the specialist NZ version of their realcommercial website (www.realcommercial.co.nz).

All Australian investors interested in NZ commercial property are now directed to the new Realestate.co.nz web site for commercial property, primecommercial.co.nz.

Mr Helm said the partnership was a "natural alignment" with the Australian site of realcommercial.com.au, which regularly receives over 700,000 unique visitors per month.

Primecommercial.co.nz was launched two years ago, and currently features over 26,000 listings of property for lease or to buy.

The site currently receives around 18,000 visitors a month with quarter-on-quarter growth of six per cent.

Mr Helm said the initiative reflected the strong relationship that has grown between Realestate.co.nz and REA Group.

“In 2008 the website of allrealestate.co.nz, specialising in residential property, closed operations in NZ and that agreement saw realestate.co.nz benefit from significant traffic redirected on a similar structure from the realestate.com.au website,” Mr Helm said.

“This is only the start. We have more exciting plans for the commercial property sector in 2012 as we recognise the importance of online marketing to this key sector of the real estate industry.”

Realestate.co.nz lists more than 130,000 properties each year, representing more than 95 per cent of all listings currently marketed by real estate professionals.
