A top selling Brisbane-based real estate agent has joined McGrath Estate Agents.

Michelle Rodgers, who was ranked 72nd in the Real Estate Business Top 100 Agents ranking earlier this year, will head the company’s second Brisbane franchise in the city’s northeast.

McGrath Wynnum Manly will be the company’s third Brisbane office, allowing the agency to service the suburbs surrounding Moreton Bay such as Wynnum, Manly, Gumdale and Wakerley.

According to McGrath Estate Agents Ms Rodgers, who previously worked for another franchise group, has sold around 700 homes in the area since starting in real estate in 2004. She has sold more than $40 million worth of property for two years running.

Ms Rodgers, who is joined in the move by a team of three, is operating from McGrath’s Paddington office and will move to her new location, McGrath Wynnum Manly, when it opens in mid-November.

According to McGrath Estate Agents, she is looking to recruit another five agents for the new operation.

McGrath Estate Agents chief executive John McGrath said Queensland’s capital offered lots of opportunity for the group, which has also recently opened offices in NSW and the ACT.

“The Brisbane property market has had to deal with its share of challenges,” Mr McGrath said.

“Since opening our first Brisbane office in May this year, the market has been improving and we see enormous potential. Launching a brand new franchise in Wynnum Manly is in keeping with our strategy to expand within this vibrant city.

“I believe this region offers great diversity and opportunity for growth and Michelle is the obvious choice for us to partner with.”
