Medium Residential Agency of the Year finalist Gold Coast agency, Harcourts Coastal believe they have made history by being the 'youngest' agency ever to be named a finalist after just 18 months in operation.

“To be nominated as a finalist is a huge honour, especially considering our young agency was only established last year,” Harcourts Coastal managing director, Dane Atherton said.

“I think our significant growth and market defying results may have been a factor in receiving this honour."

REIQ CEO Anton Kardash said interest in the awards was growing as the Institute continued its journey of transformation.

“Next year, the REIQ celebrates its 95th anniversary – which makes us an iconic Queensland organisation – but just because we are 95 years old doesn’t mean we have to act like a nonagenarian,” he said.

“This year the REIQ has re-engaged with our members, we have listened to them, and we have responded as agilely as possible to their needs.”

The winners will be announced at the 2013 REIQ Awards for Excellence, incorporating the Institute’s 95th anniversary celebrations, which is to be held on Friday 8 February at the Hilton Hotel in Brisbane.
