Principal Will Ainsworth is always on the forefront when it comes to new technology and whether it can bring benefits to his agency.

“I would by far trial and disregard more than I implement,” Mr Ainsworth said. “There are so many new technologies in the real estate space that it’s very easy to get caught up and think it will all benefit us and our clients, but its usually only a small percentage that actually does.

“When looking at technology, I look for a number of factors; does it simplify our business and reduce time and does it allow clients a better experience and outcome?”

One of the tools he has found beneficial is Openn Negotiation, which he has sold 18 properties through.

Openn Negotiation is an online auction and property sales platform with more than 19,000 users. It allows pre-contracted buyers to start bidding on a property from the start of a campaign.

Mr Ainsworth started using the platform in July, and he has sold 18 properties using the process. As a result, he believes this technology is going to “break the industry in half”.

When he first started to use the platform, he made it clear to the seller he had not used this technology before.

“They trusted my knowledge of real estate and my confidence in the process,” he said.

As a result, the property sold within eight days.

It did not take Mr Ainsworth long to team the benefits Openn Negotiation was having on his business.

When he crunched the results he had with the program compared to his sales before it, he found he had doubled his average number of bidders and properties were selling in half the time.

“I am blown away by the number,” he said. “With Openn Negotiation, we are dealing with more buyers and more potential sellers... it’s so good for business.

“We invite potential sellers to our open homes, and they can see for themselves how many people we’re getting through the front door compared to our competitors.”
