Using a range of indicators (including sales volumes and efficiency levels), the REB Top 50 Sales Offices 2022 acknowledges the country’s best real estate sales teams who have gone above and beyond to achieve stellar results and raised the bar of excellence.

AVERAGE VALUE OF SALES
In essence, offices that listed and sold the highest number of properties in the most efficient manner scored the highest rankings.
Despite facing multiple hurdles during the COVID-19 crisis (including bans on in-person property inspections and auctions during lockdowns), offices demonstrated resilience, agility, and hard work, and implemented technological tools, systems, and processes to continue providing property buyers and vendors a seamless experience with minimal disruption during their buying and selling journey.
This was critical, as the property market boomed across capital cities and regional Australia. Not only did housing price values surge by over 22 per cent in 2021, buyer demand skyrocketed even as advertised property stock levels remained consistently low.
This flurry of activity has been reflected in the Top 50 Sales Offices data, with significant increases across key metrics, including sales value and number of settlements, while many offices increased sales agents and support staff numbers.
AVERAGE SALES PRICE
Indeed, the average number of sales across the top 50 offices totalled 499, up from 332 in 2021 and 313 in 2020.
Unsurprisingly, this increase has led to a corresponding jump in the average total value of sales across the top 50 offices, up from $262.9 million in 2021 to $409.2 million in 2022.
After posting a decline in the average number of settlements between 2020 and 2021, the top 10 offices recorded a more pronounced spike this year, up from 400 in 2021 to 739 in 2022.
After increasing by a staggering $160 million between 2020 and 2021, there was a more subdued 12 per cent rise in the average total value of sales across the top 10 offices, from $421 million in 2021 to $473 million in 2022.
Across the top 50 offices, the average sale price increased from $740,931 in 2020 and $791,959 in 2021 to $819,573 in 2022. The average sale price has increased by over 10 per cent between 2020 and 2022.
Buyer demand has continued unabated, illustrated by quicker property turnover. In this year’s rankings, the top 50 offices reported an average of 39 days on market for each property, down from 48 days in 2021 and 56 days in 2020. The top 10 offices reported an average 43 days on market, down from 49 in 2021 and 52 days on average in 2020 to reach settlement.
In addition, the data has revealed that offices continued to grow their team and recruit staff. The top 50 offices had 14 sales agents in their offices on average, an increase from 13 in 2021 and 11 in 2020, while the top 10 offices had 20 sales agents on average this year, an increase from only 12 in 2021.
