RE/MAX Australia recently paid tribute to the late Geoff Esdale, recognising his remarkable career and outstanding contributions as a top commercial agent.

On 16 February, the brand posthumously awarded Mr Esdale as RE/MAX Australia’s top-performing sales associate in the commercial, retail and industrial sectors.

Before passing away in October last year, Mr Esdale held onto the award for many years by dominating the market and consistently having the greatest commercial business turnover in the network, according to RE/MAX.

After obtaining his real estate licence in 1990, Mr Esdale established RE/MAX City in 2011 — his own office.

While the business was originally located on Queen Street, it was only in 2014 that the business found its home in its current Ann Street location in the heart of Queensland CBD.

At that time, RE/MAX City became a family business as Chris, Mr Esdale’s son, joined him shortly before the business was relocated.

While Mr Esdale has passed, RE/MAX highlighted that his legacy will live on, with Chris now leading RE/MAX City in his stead.

RE/MAX Australia managing director Joel Davoren paid tribute to Mr Esdale, whom he described as “an outstanding individual who distinguished himself in RE/MAX ranks and the real estate industry itself”.

“We are saddened by his passing and admire and support Chris in taking Geoff’s legacy forward. We feel the business is in great hands with Chris, and we know that he has been taught and mentored by one of the best,” he added.

During the event that honoured his late father, Mr Esdale was also recognised for his 2022 sales achievements by being awarded Platinum Club status, which recognises individuals and teams who earned $300,000 to $499,999 in commissions.

Notably, the late Mr Esdale’s career was not only recognised in Australia but on a global scale as well. To celebrate his “legendary” career, RE/MAX bestowed on him the rare international Circle of Legends Award, which honours highly successful agents who have earned more than US$10 million in gross commissions through at least 10 years of service with the global real estate network.
