A trio of new senior appointments will see the commercial real estate firm strengthen its influence in Australia and Singapore.

Three new appointments to Knight Frank’s Asia-Pacific capital advisory team are set to “solidify the firm’s commitment” to clients in the region.

“We are delighted to announce these appointments,” said Neil Brookes, Knight Frank’s global head of capital markets.

He stated: “These roles significantly strengthen our global capital markets capabilities, enabling us to provide clients with bespoke solutions to all their financing requirements.”

Ben Schubert will take on the role of head of capital advisory, Australia, in addition to his current role as head of institutional sales.

Initially starting off his career with Colliers International in Sydney, Mr Schubert has been in Knight Frank Australia’s sales team for seven years, including a period as head of agency.

Since joining Knight Frank in 2017, Mr Schubert has run major transactions for the firm’s clients, including large commercial sales in the Sydney CBD of over $600 million.

In his new role, Mr Schubert will “lead the development and growth of the firm’s capital advisory business in Australia” and facilitate “the flow of Asia-Pacific capital into the Australian market”.

Previously based in London, Simon Matthews will relocate to Singapore to take on a new role as director of debt advisory.

Mr Matthews has spent 10 years with Knight Frank’s UK offices, where he “advised institutional investors and developers across various real estate sectors and jurisdictions”.

He has also had experience in debt origination and capital market strategies in New York and Washington DC.

Going forward in his new Singapore role, Mr Matthews will “focus on sourcing innovative funding solutions to support capital markets transactions in the Australian market as non-bank lenders continue to grow their market share”.

Joining Mr Matthews in Singapore will be Alice Crowley, who joined Knight Frank for the first time in November 2023.

Though a newcomer to Knight Frank, Ms Crowley is no stranger to the Singapore property sector, having spent four years as a development manager for Lendlease Singapore, following on from a managerial position with the GPT Group in Sydney.

In her new role as director of international capital at Knight Frank, Ms Crowley will “assist Asian-based investors to execute their investment strategies”.

Mr Brookes stated that the three appointments would further reinforce “our commitment to building scale as a leading global investment network of advisors, offering unparalleled insight and access to international capital markets”.
