Elders has bolstered its leadership ranks with the appointment of an industry veteran as its new head of commercial real estate, as the agribusiness-backed network sharpens its focus on scaling its commercial real estate offering.
John Talbot, who previously led JLL’s Asia Pacific Valuation Advisory and Consulting platform, will lead Elders’ expansion across the office, retail, industrial, hospitality, tourism, land and development real estate sectors.
His prior role saw him oversee a team of 700 professionals spanning 13 countries.
Talbot said that the network’s community focus gives a unique position to scale and meet the growing demands of the commercial market in both regional centres and capitals.
“Elders has a deep connection to local communities and with the commercial market evolving rapidly, clients are looking for trusted partners who understand both the market and the people,” he explained.
Elders executive general manager - network, Tom Russo, said Talbot’s appointment was part of the company’s broader strategy to become a fully integrated national real estate provider.
“John’s experience and vision align perfectly with our strategy to become a one-stop shop for real estate clients across Australia,” Russo said.
“John brings a rare combination of strategic insight and hands-on expertise that has been honed over decades in the commercial property sector.
“His professionalism, leadership and deep understanding of market dynamics will be invaluable as we scale our commercial real estate offering. We’re confident that John will build on our existing offering to drive growth and set a new benchmark for excellence across our network.”
