Commercial agency Cushman & Wakefield has bolstered its retail leasing capabilities in Queensland by appointing two senior leaders to its Brisbane office.

The network has appointed experienced professionals Guy Stafford and Liam Ghietti to its Brisbane office.

Stafford has joined the network as director, retail leasing Queensland, while Ghietti joins as manager, retail leasing Queensland, coming from McGees Property.

Stafford brings more than 15 years of experience in the commercial property sector, having specialised in retail since 2010.

He said that joining the network provided the pair with the opportunity to provide a stronger retail leasing service built on years of local market knowledge with the reach and resources of a global business.

“Landlords are thinking much more carefully about tenancy mix, customer experience and how individual occupiers contribute to the performance of an entire precinct. We want to work with clients from the beginning of that process rather than simply the point of transaction.”

Similarly, Ghietti brings experience across retail leasing, commercial sales, property management, and facilities coordination to the role, developing an understanding of various facets of the transaction process.

Cushman & Wakefield head of retail, Australia and New Zealand, Luke Etherington, said the appointment of the pair reflected the firm’s desire to continue building its retail platform across Queensland.

“Queensland is a major growth market for our retail business, and bringing Guy and Liam into the team significantly strengthens our capability on the ground,” Etherington said.

“Both bring strong relationships, deep local market knowledge and complementary experience across landlord and occupier advisory.”

He said the pair understood that retail leasing was about finding the right tenant based on customer demand to create sustainable long-term value for the asset.
