Focus, determination and hard work are the trademark characteristics of elite sportspeople, all of which Realmark recruit Daniel Caccamo prides himself on having.

Mr Caccamo joined Realmark two years ago after spending six years playing professional football throughout South America and Europe.

Mr Caccamo said that it had been “incredible” to find a new career that emulates his love of playing sport at an elite level.

“I love real estate because it is so similar to football,” the agent said.

“For all the hard work you put in, you see the reward, just the same as football. The more I train, the better I got, and how that links up with business and real estate really drew me in.”

Mr Caccamo that said his background in fine-tuning skills, discipline and structured processes aligns well with Realmark’s vision.

He was spotted by a talent scout and chosen to play high-level soccer in Brazil at just 17 years of age. He trained twice a day and spent most of his spare time in Brazil at a club’s youth academy complex. After an injury, surgery and rehabilitation, he secured a trial with Italian Serie B team Vicenza Calcio. Mr Caccamo then secured a trial with Hungarian First Division team Kaposvar, leading to a two-year stint playing top-level football in Hungary.

“This was pretty rare for a kid from Perth to be playing soccer at this level, so I was literally living my dream and was going to work my hardest to make the most of my opportunity,” Mr Caccamo said.

“Especially as I have an Italian background, to see the joy in my parents’ faces, that was pretty special. It was a lot of training, a lot of hard work, but for those two years playing in Hungary at the top level, I played the best football of my career. All the hard work I had put in for the years before was starting to pay off. It was just a great experience.”

Following several major injury setbacks during the last part of his stint in Hungary, Mr Caccamo retired from football, returned home and embarked on a career in real estate.

Realmark managing director John Percudani lauded Mr Caccamo’s determination.

“Daniel has such a strong work ethic. You know from the day and hour you meet him, he will ensure he does whatever it takes to get you the most suited buyer for your property. This is evident from his sales track record of 26 days on market.”
