Capitalising on the strong growth in Melbourne’s booming north-east corridor, the network is adding a fifth office to strengthen its position in the thriving region.

David Moxon, who has opened offices in Bundoora, Mill Park, Macleod, and Greensborough under the Barry Plant banner, has now revealed plans to further expand the brand’s presence in the area with a fifth office in Doreen.

Jay Moxon, in partnership with David Moxon, Michael Egan, and Ashlee Jade, will spearhead the leadership of the new office.

The network described the Doreen location as “a natural extension of their territory”, highlighting that Mr Moxon’s team has already taken a substantial market share in the Doreen and Mernda area, thanks to business originating from the Mill Park office.

With the latest venture, the partners expect a physical office to solidify their dominance in the region.

Adding to the advantages of the latest office is Barry Plant strong brand recognition in the area, courtesy of the network’s longstanding agency presence in Doreen since 2011.

With the previous Barry Plant in the area office closing four months ago when the business owner retired from real estate, Jay Moxon acknowledged “we are picking up a good legacy and will be building on the efforts of an agent who worked hard and had a great reputation”.

Joining the team are three local agents who have been operating in the area for five years.

“They know the area well and we’ve built a strong relationship with them very quickly. They have slotted into our team easily and with their local knowledge, we expect to get off to a flying start,” Jay Moxon explained.

Located 26 kilometres north-east of Melbourne’s CBD, Doreen was named as one of the fastest-growing areas in Australia in 2015.

Since then, Barry Plant noted it has developed significant infrastructure — schools, retail, medical facilities — and has fast become popular with professionals and young families, offering larger homes on larger blocks for entry level buyers who can snap up a standard home for around $600,000.

“There is a huge variety of housing. With homes ranging up to the $2 million mark,” Jay Moxon noted.

Notably, the leader of the new office is also intimately acquainted with the area, with Jay Moxon sharing he has been raised in Doreen and has cultivated deep roots that extend back to his formative years in school and involvement in sporting activities.

“I sell properties for between three and five people a month that I knew in my childhood. In fact, I recently sold a property in Mernda that was owned by someone I played basketball with as a child,” he said.

Barry Plant chief executive Mike McCarthy voiced his enthusiasm for the network’s newest outfit in the region, adding his confidence stems from the team’s decades of experience in real estate and in the north-eastern corridor.

“They are accomplished business owners who offer a real estate service that is knowledgeable, professional, and personal and that’s why their other four offices have been such a success,” he stated.
