In the lead-up to the brand’s centenary, LJ Hooker is ramping up its expansion efforts, recruiting two new growth specialists.

The LJ Hooker Group has recruited former owner of LJ Hooker Helensvale and Pacific Pines, Pascal Pierre, and Sydney auctioneer, Luke Whitelum, as the network’s two newest strategic growth specialists.

Group general manager of network, Stephen Mutton stated that the appointments have been made as part of the network’s LJH100 strategy focused on growing the LJ Hooker brand and supporting the “next generation of franchise owners”.

Pierre was described as having 17 years of experience within the LJ Hooker network, having only recently sold his ownership of LJ Hooker’s Helensvale and Pacific Pines outposts.

Reflecting on his recent decision to sell his franchise of 12 years, Pierre shared that he was excited to be “giving back” to the LJ Hooker brand through being able to recruit professionals who will add value to the network.

“I get a buzz from mentoring and witnessing the growth of agents. This passion is what inspired me to move away from sales and establish my own business,” said Pierre.

“As a business owner, one of the most valuable aspects you could want is to be part of a network that is easily recognised and trusted by customers, and the LJ Hooker Group offers exactly that a legacy brand with a strong reputation.”

Speaking on Pierre’s appointment, Mutton said: “Pascal has been a longstanding member of the LJ Hooker network, having worked his way from sales agent to franchise owner on the Gold Coast with over 17 years in the business.”

Whitelum comes to the business with a diverse professional background, having launched his auctioneer career in 2010 following a decade-long stint as a sales agent. He also brings experience from the property media landscape.

Whitelum expressed excitement around the opportunity to recruit offices and grow the network in the lead-up to the brand’s centenary and beyond, while the network relayed his further focus on cultivating an “auction culture within new and existing offices”.

Stating that the business has a “huge amount of brand equity”, he shared “it was my first recollection of a real estate business growing up and I’m excited to be a part of shaping its future growth”.

“We want to attract the best talent, which is easy when you have such a highly regarded brand. As an auctioneer, I have a front-row seat to identify the top performers and determine who will be the right match for our brand.”

Commenting on Whitelum’s appointment, Mutton noted: “Luke is a successful auctioneer, and with his industry knowledge and energy, we are confident that he will be the right person to grow the business in the Sydney Metro and Southern NSW region.”

With the brand’s centenary now just four years away, Mutton detailed that the expansion of their network’s strategic growth team was facilitated to “support new businesses by providing the right expertise and helping to solve any challenges they may encounter”.

“Pascal and Luke both have very different real estate backgrounds but bring a wealth of expertise to our team at this important time as we countdown to our centenary,” he concluded.
