Auctioneers from NSW are preparing to go head-to-head against their Queensland counterparts in the second annual State of Origin Auctioneer Competition.

The Real Estate Institute of NSW will host the contest against the Real Estate Institute of Queensland.

REINSW President John Cunningham said it would be a great opportunity for the Blues to outclass the Maroons.

“Following on from the hard-fought win in the third game of the NRL Origin series, we are expecting the Blues team to master the gavel just as effectively,” Mr Cunningham said.

“The competition will be fierce and we are excited that it is being held at the battleground, ANZ Stadium,” he said.

Each team will be comprised of four Awards for Excellence auctioneer finalists and an auctioneer great.

REINSW will be represented by great Scott Kennedy-Green of McGrath Estate Agents, Josh Larsen and Edward Riley, also of McGrath Estate Agents, as well as Gavin Croft of BresicWhitney/Real Estate Auction Services and Jesse Davidson of AuctionWORKS.

The competitors for Queensland will be Jason Andrew and Phill Broom of Jason Andrew Auctioneers, Matt Condon and Justin Nickerson of Apollo Auctions. The Maroons’ great will be Peter Burgin of Place.

The State of Origin Auctioneer Competition will be held on 20 July 2016 at ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park, from 12.30pm.
