Million-dollar agent harnesses power of media to sell property

New York celebrity agent Fredrik Eklund has never used advertising for a property sale ever. Instead, he relies on the media to help move his properties.

Speaking at the Australian Real Estate Conference on the Gold Coast earlier this year, the star of Million Dollar Agent told a roomful of agents that he does not use advertising to promote property.

He relies on public relations companies and journalists to spread the word.

“These journalists want to get stories, so why is it so scary for agents to call up and say, ‘I see a trend’?”

“Even if they interview you and your competitors, they will have you lead the story.”

In recent weeks, two PR teams have joined forces to provide Sydney agents with a full service public relations, social media and digital marketing solution.

Chronicle Republic and 360PR have been instrumental in producing results for their agent clients. Some of these clients have gone on to win industry awards.

One client, Wilson Property Agents, won a REINSW award for excellence. It was also honoured as Best Independent in the Real Estate Business Awards in 2014.

Meanwhile, Justin Ferguson Property Specialists and Vault Interiors Property Styling, with the help of Chronicle Republic and 360PR’s PR teams, have significantly increased their social following and unique website page views.

Another client, Vault Interiors, experienced an 835 per cent jump in social media engagement, and was featured in 20 media editorials in two months.

Chronicle Republic director Tiffany Wilson said the partnership with 360PR provides Sydney real estate agencies with results-driven solutions.

“The combined experience of 360PR and Chronicle Republic will give our clients a unique edge,” she said.
