Sotheby’s International Realty in Queensland has appointed former Hamilton Island Realty principal Wayne Singleton to head its operations in the Whitsundays.

The move comes in the wake of Queensland Sotheby’s finalising its expansion plans in the state, which include the recent opening of an office in Port Douglas.

Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty CEO Paul Arthur said that the Whitsunday region had always featured in the company’s growth plans.

“Our own Carol Carter has done an amazing job servicing the high end from our Gold Coast office, but in addition, we always wanted a physical presence and that takes the right person,” the CEO said.

“We believe we have that with Wayne, who brings his immense experience to the region, and specifically Hamilton Island.”

Mr Arthur said that the timing was right.

“Our ability to attract buyers to the region is unsurpassed, pulling from our private clients across our offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, New Zealand and our 970 offices across the globe.

“We bring a different value proposition and capability to the region. Our expansion into the Whitsunday region complements our office in Port Douglas which has enjoyed great success since opening.”

Mr Singleton said that he was very familiar with the “beautiful tropical” coast of Queensland, and that he was keen to get started.

“I’m really excited to bring Sotheby’s International Realty to the Whitsundays,” Mr Singleton said.

“The global network will provide unprecedented international exposure for the region’s lifestyle and real estate, putting us on the world stage. Couple this with our local expertise and knowledge and we are now able to provide a service to our clients like no other.”
