After having its doors open for four months, Laing+Simmons Newcastle Central has strengthened its position.

The team has secured work on three new development projects, drastically increased its listings and doubled its sales team.

“The new year has started positively for local real estate and buyer activity is strong. As such, prices are buoyant, and while we’re not predicting a return to boom-time price rises in the short term, the scene is set for sustainable growth in 2020,” director Michael Barber said.

“Homes that are properly priced are not remaining on the market for long. Encouragingly, enquiry levels from both owner-occupiers and investors are strong.”

Although the agency has started the year with a hiss and a roar, expansion is still on the table as it looks to recruit to expand its sales team.

“We’re looking to speak to sales agents to facilitate the growth we’re experiencing internally and to ensure we’re well positioned for a busy year ahead in local property,” Mr Barber said.

As part of Laing+Simmons, Mr Barber has noticed how being connected to the brand has enhanced his ability to recruit.

“You can see their eyes widen when we explain the war chest of marketing collateral and other support available to them in a Laing+Simmons-branded sales campaign,” the director said.

“We knew we needed to grow our team to achieve our business growth ambitions, and the recruitment advantages we’ve leveraged with Laing+Simmons have expedited this growth. We’re having better conversations with better agents more regularly.”
