The NSW network is looking to leverage increasing demand across the Illawarra region by opening a brand-new office beachside in Wollongong.

It’s the latest effort in the brand’s strategic expansion across New South Wales, and adds to 16 offices across Sydney’s Upper North Shore, Northern Suburbs, Lower North Shore and Eastern Suburbs, as well as New South Wales’ Central Coast and Southern Highlands.

The new Wollongong office kicks off with a seven-strong team headed up by partner and regional residential sales manager Joshua Kersten and his co-partners Jason Capelo, Rob Mancini and Alexander Duncan.

All together, the team boasts 70 years of combined local real estate experience, which they have indicated they will aim to use to unlock potential within the region.

“Since the beginning of  COVID, we have seen an unprecedented wave of interest in the Illawarra region. [It] has always been popular, but COVID and flexible working arrangements have been a game changer,” Mr Kersten said.

“Over the last 18 months, we have delivered a full range of services to clients across their whole property journey, from renting right through to buying as well as investing, and we look forward to  seeing the prestige market in the Illawarra continue to flourish.

“By joining the Di Jones network, we will now have access to their shared database of clients, which means that we can cross-pollinate and share clients from Terrigal, the Southern Highlands and Sydney.”

Di Jones CEO Dean Mackie has expressed support for Mr Kersten and the rest of the Wollongong team, and is anticipating continued growth across the Illawarra region.

“We have enjoyed great success with our expansion into the Central Coast and the move into the  Illawarra supports strong buyer interest that we are seeing particularly from the Sydney market,” Mr Mackie said.

“Wollongong is an important piece in the puzzle and complements our reach from our market-leading Southern Highlands office.

“We will have agents covering the entire region including Helensburgh to Kiama, and onto Berry and Nowra.”

The latest news from the network comes after a number of new appointments at a corporate level, including a head of sales, a brand-new chief operating officer and a digital content marketing manager.
