As the state looks to get back to business, a number of Victorian leaders have united with the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) to deliver an important COVID-19 vaccination message.
“Let’s get it done” is the resounding catch cry of a video montage that’s been sent out to members of the REIV and pushed out on social media, which sees agency CEOs, directors and general managers joining REIV president Leah Calnan and senior vice president Adam Docking in urging the real estate profession to vaccinate against COVID-19.
The Institute has acknowledged the sector “has a role to play” in helping Victoria out of its latest lockdown.
The video’s release follows the Victorian government announcement that some of the current restrictions on real estate would be eased once 70 per cent of eligible Victorians receive their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
“We thought it important to urge people in the sector to play their part in ensuring a quicker return to business as usual, and vaccination is the only way,” said Ms Calnan.
“It’s critical we get it done.”
Individuals featured in the video, include: Nick Dowling, CEO Jellis Craig; Mike McCarthy, director Barry Plant; Dean O’Brien, director O'brien Real Estate; Charlotte Pascoe, CEO Stockdale & Leggo; Alisha Hobart, auctioneer at EYS Auctions; Jeremy Tyrrell, Tyrrell Auctions; Alex Starr, GM Ross Hunt Real Estate; Kate Yeowart, Strata Equity; Gary Peer & Associates’ directors Gary Peer and Philip Kingston; and Ray Ellis, CEO First National Real Estate.
From the president’s perspective, “the real estate sector’s response to COVID-19 has been inspiring.”
“From a swift and professional initial response to ongoing agility and continuous integrity, people in real estate have been exceptionally resilient since COVID-19 struck.”
