An agent with deep roots in Potts Point and its surrounds has extended his footprint, opening up a new venture in the east.

Belle Property Surry Hills principal Mark Foy has expanded his reach with a second office in the neighbourhood he calls home.

“Although we have been servicing the area via our Surry Hills office for some time, our new office means we can better meet the needs of the local market, which is on a strong growth trajectory underpinned by some unique factors,” Mr Foy said.

He sees the locality, once best known for its clubs and bars, forming a different reputation among inner-city home seekers.

“With its plethora of restaurants and cafés, these days Potts Point is better known for its relaxed inner-city lifestyle than its stock-in-trade nightlife. In line with our brand’s focus on premium lifestyle areas, the new office perfectly positions us to service the needs of a changing local demographic,” he said.

Taking part in the transformation of Sydney’s innermost suburbs could almost be described as a family habit. If his name sounds familiar, it’s not only because of the impact he’s made on the area’s real estate. Foy shares his name with the CBD department store that his family founded in 1885 and was a familiar presence through 1980. The iconic building that housed it is now well known as the Downing Centre courthouse complex.

Mr Foy credits that history, along with his current choice of community to call home, as driving a “deep-seated connection and passion for the area”.

And he’s committed to showing how much the area has to offer current and wannabe Sydneysiders looking for their next home or investment, noting there’s currently a real opportunity in the market for units.

“While house prices continue to rise steeply in the eastern suburbs, in comparison, apartments are still relatively affordable. This is making them increasingly attractive to investors, downsizers and families, and as a result, we are starting to see solid growth in the area’s apartment market,” he noted.

It’s this local expertise that has Belle Property CEO Peter Hanscomb confident in his success.

“Mark Foy and his team are all real estate experts who live, work and breathe the eastern suburbs market. Their exceptional market knowledge and client service has delivered some superb sales results to date,” Mr Hanscomb said.

“Under Mark’s skilled leadership, and with favourable market conditions set to continue, I’ve no doubt whatsoever the team at Belle Property Potts Point will soon be outstripping their previous successes.”
