To align with changing needs of the industry post-pandemic, one Wollongong principal is making some strategic changes to her business.

Riding on the wave of her success as principal of First National Real Estate Brailey Figtree, Leanne Brailey has relaunched as First National Real Estate Wollongong and relocated her office to the city’s central business district.

These changes have coincided with Ms Brailey’s growth plans to adapt to the changing needs of her target market.

“The Illawarra region is already the beneficiary of people leaving inner-Sydney for its lifestyle advantages, but our local community’s needs are also changing rapidly,” Ms Brailey said.

According to the principal, these relocators are described by demographer Bernard Salt as “VESPAs”, which stands for Virus Escapees Seeking Provincial Australia.

She believes that with the agency’s re-energised focus, her business “will be driven by emerging marketing/data technologies that deliver the services that our market and its evolving demographics now demand”.

Recognising Ms Brailey’s contribution to the industry, First National chief executive Ray Ellis has showered the entrepreneur with accolades.

“Starting from her first real estate agency in a 30-square-metre shop in Figtree/Mangerton, Leanne became the first female licensee in the locality and remains Wollongong’s only local female auctioneer,” said Mr Ellis.

“She carries forward the Brailey family’s substantial achievements in Illawarra commerce, which over time have incorporated ventures in babywear, transport, the Port Kembla Bond Stores, a petrol station and an accountancy firm.”

Ms Brailey has assured clients that people and culture will remain at the heart of their business, further enhanced by tech support provided by the First National network.

“Big data now drives the way in which real estate agents target the right audiences for the Illawarra region and beyond. We will lead the market in this respect,” she stated.
