Harcourts has now tapped the Bundaberg and Childers region, welcoming new owners into the fold.

Michael and Julie-Anne Vella are the network’s newest recruits, operating two offices in the Queensland commune under the Harcourts Ignite banner.

Harcourts Queensland chief executive Mitch Peereboom said there was no greater honour than welcoming the pair into the group.

He said: “Michael and Julie-Anne have built a formidable two office operation and their business aligns perfectly with the Harcourts Group and shares our same values.”

The Vellas bring with them a team of sales consultants and asset managers, which they have described as “more like a family than work colleagues”.

In making the move to Harcourts, Mr Vella said they “were looking for the backing of quality systems, a larger digital footprint to expose our clients to a larger marketing platform, while creating better training and careers paths for the people we work with”.

It’s been a trial by fire for the team, with the principal and sales manager recalling how the business started with “a drawer of listings in a small, rented office of 26 square metres, with no rent roll”.

“We were new to the industry and truly an underdog in our region, we had no choice but to prove ourselves against four real estate offices in our small town of 1,500 people,” he said.

Now, the situation couldn’t be more different.

“Our rent roll is maturing quickly and growing well with years of 40 to 50 per cent growth in the past few years we are also now attracting the best people and have developed a culture of ‘we can always do better’,” Mr Vella shared.

“The real success story is our people and our culture, our numbers, and our #1 status for Greater Bundaberg area is also rewarding and a testament to our team and leadership.”

Calling the team “a hell of a force”, Mr Vella quipped: “We are the ultimate all-rounders that allows us to pivot our marketing and understanding as needed with an equally diverse team.”

The Vellas acknowledge the Bundaberg and Childers region as “a large, diverse region”.

“We have beautiful beaches, rich horticultural land with diverse farming, grazing, lifestyle and polar opposite residential markets,” described Mr Vella.

In conclusion, Mr Peereboom said they were “proud to be adding Harcourts Ignite to our team and look forward to watching them grow, excel and achieve even more success than they already have”.
