The network has further tapped into the regional Queensland market with the opening of the new LJ Hooker Agnes Waters.

Situated between Bundaberg and Gladstone on Queensland’s Capricorn Coast, the new office looks to capitalise on a region that has become widely popular among young families, retirees and investors for its offering of a quieter lifestyle and affordable coastal living.

Headed up by Paul Saayman, the new agency will offer a full suite of real estate services, including sales and property management, for the strong mix of apartments, new housing estates and small acreages that the area boasts.

“It is now wonderful to be on the other side as part of the LJ Hooker network assisting customers. Their satisfaction is very important to me, and our focus will be to deliver the best possible outcome for both vendors and buyers,” Mr Saayman said.

“LJ Hooker’s innovative systems and an abundance of resources will enable us to provide even greater customer experiences for those looking to move to Agnes Waters.

“This is a very unique area – it is where the bush and sea combine with a rural atmosphere. It is attracting a lot of people who – like myself – have moved up here from Brisbane to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living. With rental vacancy rates tight, it is also drawing a lot of interest from investors.”

That increase in interest has had a huge impact on price, with the median house price in Agnes Waters having increased by more than 20 per cent over the last 12 months to $590,000, which Mr Saayman said demonstrates “the demand for real estate in this area”.

Stephen Mutton, LJ Hooker Group’s head of network performance, has also acknowledged Queensland’s popularity post-pandemic as more people look to move to a coastal lifestyle destination.

He highlighted the level of trust placed in the network by Mr Saayman and his team, “to support and guide them on their business growth journey”.

“We are thrilled that our national brand will be represented in this exciting growth area. It is certainly the mark of a dynamic real estate network to be able to establish a new office with a talented team in an evolving market,” he said.
