The boutique real estate brand has added a leading Canberran agent to its Gungahlin franchise.

After seven years as a Canberra property specialist at McGrath, Kris Hellier has made the decision to reunite with former colleague Jessica Smith at the North Canberra franchise.

Mr Hellier joins the team as a partner and agent, having spent the past decade developing a reputation as a top-performing local agent with a knack for negotiating and a speciality in sales. He reunites with Ms Smith, principal at Stone Gungahlin, with the pair having previously spent five years working together at McGrath.

“We are incredibly excited to have Kris come on as part of the business,” Ms Smith said.

“We started our careers together, and after I launched Stone Canberra last May I hoped there’d be an opportunity to work together once more.”

Speaking on Mr Hellier’s credentials, she said he “is undeniably one of Canberra’s best performing agents and I feel privileged not only to work alongside him again, but to be able to assist his clients to get the most out of what working under the Stone Real Estate banner provides”.

Mr Hellier shared this delight at reuniting with his former colleague at the boutique brand, outlining his intention to help the brand grow.

“I’m excited to be joining a young, dynamic team that I have previously worked alongside, and joining forces with my partner to expand the brand.

“I have been thinking about a change for a long time and given the existing relationships I have with the team at Stone it was the right move to make,” he said.

“I felt now was the right time to make the move given the recent changes in market conditions, to bring a fresh new energy to my team and clients I work with.

“I’m looking forward to expanding my skills across the Canberra region and I’m also excited to help grow the current business and to provide mentorship and advice to some of the new agents in our business.”

Stone Real Estate head of franchise Luke Cameron labelled the addition of Mr Hellier as a “significant coup” for the Gungahlin outfit.

“The fact that Canberra’s leading agent recognises the potential for growth with Stone is a clear vote of confidence in what our franchisees are providing for the market and a testament to Jessica Smith’s leadership,” Mr Cameron said.

Mr Hellier becomes the second former McGrath man to join Stone in as many weeks, after Michael Conolly became the agency’s new head of property management.
