A new short-form video app especially for the real estate industry is ready to make waves, with its Australian launch showcasing global appeal.

Ten Sixty — also known simply as “1060” — is already in use by agents spanning numerous Australian brands — including the likes of Ray White, Raine & Horne, LJ Hooker, Belle Property, McGrath, Barry Plant, Kollosche and Century 21.

Users of the application, which acts as a social network for the property industry, are able to film a video of a property and add music and other trimmings before posting it for free as a 60-second clip.

Having been billed as a new and innovative way of marketing, Ten Sixty allows its users to view properties for sale and for rent, as well as recently sold properties from global cities — including the likes of New York and London, as well as closer to home.

As part of its approach to increasing connectivity between major players in the global property world, the app has already onboarded several top real estate teams from around the globe to showcase what these teams are doing and how they are operating to a wide audience.

With a global growth strategy in mind, some of the world’s most prestigious and expensive properties are set to become a core component of the app.

Barry Plant, the founder of Barry Plant, has commended the app’s “new age” approach to real estate, detailing the opinion that Ten Sixty “will change the social way in which people look at houses”.

Noting that agents now have the ability to reach the market at a much faster rate than traditional methods, he highlighted how “a lot of people don’t even know they are in the market to buy”.

“Ten Sixty allows people across a broad spectrum to have an interest in property, ultimately expanding the property buyer pool,” Mr Plant said.

He added that “it will create a lot more access to international properties as well, because it’s not just for Australia, it’s the United States, it’s Europe and England”.

Sadhana Smiles, chief executive officer of Real Estate Industry Partners, shared these sentiments, commenting that the app’s transformative approach to real estate sales and marketing “creates a fun and engaging way to look at amazing houses”.
