A new Parramatta office heralds a return to the Greater Western Sydney area for the Australian brand.

Iftikhar Rana will be flying the flag for LJ Hooker from his premises at the corner of Church Street and Victoria Road, thanks to a rebrand of his established real estate office.

Having first opened his own office in 2002, Mr Rana said that he’d been “very interested in LJ Hooker but the area wasn’t available in Parramatta”.

“I wanted to stay here,” he revealed.

“When we recently heard that there was an opportunity to rebrand with LJ Hooker, we felt it was the right move for us.

“We were performing well but looking for a change and it has been a decision that has re-energised the business.”

Spanning both residential and commercial sales, Mr Rana expressed the belief that his business’ alignment with the network “will take us to the next level”.

“It has a wide appeal to the local market. It is also a well-known brand that people trust with their most valuable asset,” he said.

Joining Mr Rana in the business is his son, Aurangzeb, who leads the sales team.

The agency also comprises admin staff, dedicated sales staff and a property manager.

According to Stephen Mutton, the LJ Hooker general manager network Australia, the alignment kickstarts a “new era” for LJ Hooker in Sydney’s west.

“We are thrilled to return to the Parramatta residential sales market after an extended absence — strategically it is important to our brand and with so much development underway in the region, it is also a very exciting market,” he said.

“Iftikhar and his team know this market better than anyone and we are delighted to welcome them to the LJ Hooker family.”

The news of LJ Hooker’s return to Parramatta has also coincided with the finalisation of a handover of LJ Hooker Merrylands to the team behind LJ Hooker Granville and Guildford.

Principals Joe Bechara and Wade El-Takchi have taken over the franchise from retiring agent John Contos, which will also see them taking over the property management side of the business from 1 September.

Mr Bechara said the expansion provides them with an opportunity to increase their market share in Merrylands, before adding that “if the new Parramatta office can do the same thing, then LJ Hooker will have a great presence in Sydney’s western suburbs”.
