The online real estate giant has lauded its inclusion on a brand-new list of Australia’s best workplaces for women.

Great Place to Work is behind the inaugural Best Workplaces for Women™ list, which highlights 30 organisations across Australia that are committed to fostering equity in the workplace.

This includes ensuring women feel safe, heard, challenged, and valued.

According to REA Group, the shortlist was created using rigorous analytics and confidential employee feedback.

The latest accolade follows REA Group’s fourth-place ranking on the overall 2022 Best Workplaces list back in August.

For REA Group chief executive Owen Wilson, the business’ inclusion on the new list “speaks to the great strides [its] organisation has taken gender equity”.

“As the recognition is largely based on culture and experience, I’m particularly pleased that our employees’ personal assessment significantly contributes to our place on the list,” Mr Wilson said.

Emphasising the brand’s “strong focus on diversity, equity and inclusion”, Mr Wilson added that he is “very proud of the initiatives [they] have in place and where [they] are headed”.

“We have an equal gender balance across our Australian employee base, a dedicated Women in Tech strategy, and in 2022, we were recognised as an inclusive employer for our leadership by the Diversity Council of Australia,” he said.

He did, however, acknowledge “there is still more work to do”.

“As a leading Australian digital business, we’re particularly focused on fostering gender equity within our tech community,” he said.

He concluded: “Gender is just one lens of diversity and inclusion which we are integrating into our broader program of initiatives to ensure REA continues to be a great place to work for all.”
