After a three-year hiatus, a sibling team has returned to one of LJ Hooker’s high-performing offices.

Ben and Jonas Leong spent eight years at LJ Hooker Property Partners in Brisbane’s Sunnybank Hills before trying a new direction with a different outfit. Now, the brothers are back with the megabrand, rejoining the team of over 70 property professionals.

They’ll be deploying their unique working relationship to notch the next milestone into their high-earning record.

To date, the siblings have sold more than $600 million worth of property in just over 20 years, working in tandem as lead agents. In their partnership, Ben undertakes the majority of prospecting and Jonas manages the back-end processes, while they split up the jobs of client engagement and buyer negotiations.

LJ Hooker Property Partners’ sales director, Lachlan Smith, commented on the efficient and productive working arrangement struck by the Leongs.

“Ben and Jonas are a million-dollar team with their partnership providing a holistic level of service to their sellers,” he said.

“LJ Hooker Property Partners has an office full of high-performers, and Ben and Jonas perfectly complement our standards and vision.”

On his part, Jonas Leong put their success down to experience coupled with an appreciation for each other’s talents.

“We both have two decades of experience in real estate and bring to our client offering different skill sets. I think that’s what’s made our partnership successful,” he said.

It’s perhaps unsurprising that the brothers, now in their mid-40s, are able to collaborate well together. They’ve been coworkers since their teenage years, working part-time at McDonalds.

In real estate, they’ve leveraged their language skills – with fluency in Mandarin and Hakka – to become specialists in the 4109 postcode of Sunnybank Hills. With a current median house price of $930,000 and representing 6.9 per cent growth over the last 12 months, the area is continuing to attract interest both for its more established homes and the generous parcels of land on which they sit.

LJ Hooker’s general manager of network, Steve Mutton, said he was pleased to see the brothers return to the brand.

“Ben and Jonas are highly experienced and their decision to come back to LJ Hooker Property Partners is a clear demonstration of the support and values the office and brand delivers,” said Mr Mutton.
