A network’s Queensland CEO has revealed he’s set to become a shareholder of the business, adding part-owner and director to his job title.

Mitch Peereboom will become a Harcourts Queensland shareholder, in what’s being touted as a “hugely significant” development for the Queensland arm of the network, according to Harcourts Australia CEO Adrian Knowles.

Mr Knowles said the news points to security of leadership and continuing growth for the Queensland business, and comes off the back of “incredible growth seen this year in the Harcourts Queensland offices”.

“Although Harcourts as a network of offices and agents has seen increasing numbers and market share, internal growth is just as important as external,” the Australian CEO stressed.

Having joined the business back in 2011, Mr Peereboom has been lauded by the brand for his auction prowess, having taken on the chief auctioneer role with the network prior to becoming Queensland CEO back in 2021.

According to Harcourts, now that he is a shareholder, his commitment to Harcourts could not be stronger.

Reflecting on a culture of “energy and community” and the organisation’s rapid growth over the past 26 years, Mr Peereboom himself shared: “As we look to the future, we have a responsibility to keep reinvigorating ourselves and to bring fresh, optimistic leadership to the group.”

“Our dynamic team are laser-focused on continual improvement to ensure we are creating an inspirational environment for our people to grow their careers. This is a journey I am proud to be a part of.”

It caps off a stellar start to 2023 for the CEO, who has already overseen the Harcourts Queensland team presenting a record-setting number of auctions in one day, and more recently spearheaded a recruitment strategy that saw 110-plus agents join the group in a four-month period.

“We have opened 23 offices in the last two years, and now have over 500 agents operating throughout the state across 55 offices. We want to build the leading real estate company in Queensland, and we must continue to partner with great people to make this happen.”

Harcourts International managing director Mike Green has weighed in on the latest development in Mr Peereboom’s career, commenting that he is “thrilled for Mitch and thrilled for Harcourts Queensland”.

“Having Mitch as a shareholder considerably strengthens Harcourts position in the Queensland real estate market space.”

“Ours is an industry where top talent tends to move about, and I get that. But Mitch’s commitment to his team, and Harcourts generally and Queensland in particular, as signified by his becoming a shareholder, guarantees this top talent says true to blue!” Mr Green exclaimed.
