Kelly Podlich has been elevated to the role after 14 years with the brand.

Having started with the company as a project accountant, Podlich has held a number of positions before this elevation to the executive team.

On the Australian side of the business, she served as the Australian financial controller for over three years, before joining the international team as group financial controller – the position she held until this latest appointment.

In announcing the promotion, Mike Green, managing director of Harcourts International, spoke to Podlich’s dedication to the company.

“Kelly has been a key part of our team for almost 14 years and instrumental in our growth and evolution as a business,” Green said.

“Kelly’s professional skills and pragmatic approach to solving business problems as well as her ability to connect with her team and the wider network drive our profitable, sustainable growth agenda and made it an incredibly easy choice,” he added.

On her part, Podlich emphasised how she feels her soft skills will assist her in this important fiduciary role.

“I pride myself on not being your typical accountant and believe that putting people first, working hard and developing strong relationships has been the key to my success to date,” Podlich said.

In the year ahead, she said she would focus on “redefining our finance strategy, ensuring we deliver on improved data insights and reporting to enable quicker decision-making and support our leaders and business owners in achieving their growth plans”.

Podlich will be well served by her experience with the firm in embarking on these major undertakings.

“Being a global business operating in 11 countries, I’ve been fortunate to be involved in and oversee a large number of major projects in my time, but our interfirm benchmarking workshops and finance system transformation are just some of the many highlights,” the CFO commented.

Beyond her ambitions in this next step in her career, Podlich is also reportedly dedicated to some personal goals as well.

A passionate cyclist, she recently rode her bike 350 kilometres across Queensland with the Sisters of the Saddle Foundation to raise over $380,000 for young people who need help creating a better future or who are affected by domestic violence.
