One longstanding agency is reflecting on six decades in operation.

Melbourne’s Marshall White was first established in 1964 as a family-owned business – and it’s a model that still stands the business in good stead today.

With White at the helm for the first three decades, the baton was then passed across to John Bongiorno and James Connell, who both still sit on the executive and board teams today.

Operating as a standalone office back in 1964, Marshall White has grown to 10 offices across both Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, with the brand reflecting on the “instrumental role” played by the business in shaping Victoria’s real estate landscape.

Bongiorno, who is now Marshall White’s sales director, said the group is “incredibly proud of our journey thus far and look forward to continuing to serve the Victorian community for the next 60 years”.

Stating that he is grateful for the loyalty of clients and dedicated staff, the director said “reaching our 60th anniversary is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of everyone who has been part of the Marshall White family”.

“We’ve worked hard to earn a reputation for excellence and we want to maintain that commitment to all our current and future customers.”

For Marshall White’s daughter Bronwyn Tricks, the business is still a great source of family pride.

She shared that “each time any of us walk past an auction board, a sign, or indeed the Marshall White name emblazoned on the High Street offices, it brings a smile to our faces”.

“Dad loved the theatrics of the auction stage but above all, he believed in prioritising clients, fostering their friendship and trust, and building genuine relationships.

“He built a solid reputation as a reliable and enthusiastic agent and that perception of the Marshall White company still remains,” she continued.

That success shines through in results both new and old for the Marshall White brand.

The agency still reveres its 1981 sale of the first ever home in Victoria to exceed $1 million, while in more recent years it has managed the sale of Victoria’s two highest ever sale prices, both in the same week of 2022. All of these homes were located across the suburb of Toorak.

The birthday celebrations follow on from the release of new branding at the business, which puts the “classic” Marshall White castle logo “at the forefront of the business identity”.

The agency reported it’s “a nod to the class and elegance that have propelled the agency since its inception”.
