The Agency’s newest Victorian appointee will be responsible for recruiting new talent and identifying new growth opportunities for the brand.

The Agency has announced that real estate professional Michael Wood has been appointed as the new general manager of sales at The Agency Victoria.

With over 15 years of experience in real estate, Wood has worked in the Melbourne markets of Boroondara and Stonnington, developing a comprehensive skill set in campaign execution, including listing, marketing, negotiating sales and strategy.

Wood also brings insights from his previous role as a senior sales executive and auctioneer at Marshall White, and his most recent position as sales manager and auctioneer at Jellis Craig.

Passionate about real estate, he has previously been selected as a finalist in the Real Estate Institute of Victoria’s senior auctioneering competition, and represented Victoria at the Australasian Auctioneering Championships (AUSTROS).

Wood said that The Agency’s latest sales performance, which reached an eight-year historic peak in March, was one of the factors that prompted him to join the company.

“I can’t think of a better time to join the national brand,” he said.

Wood further shared that he was looking forward to cementing The Agency’s presence in Victoria and working closely with the brand’s CEO of Real Estate, Matt Lahood.

In his new role, Wood will lead The Agency’s sales team across Victoria and aim to enhance the network’s sales performance by connecting with a diverse range of buyers and sellers while recruiting new talent.

“We have a desire to attract not only the best real estate professionals in their local markets in Melbourne but regional Victoria too,” Wood explained.

“The Agency’s national reach creates the opportunity to attract a broader range of buyers and we can achieve solid results for vendors in Victoria,” he added.

Lahood described Wood as “one of the best auctioneers and sales people in Victoria” and added that his presence as GM of sales will “act to guide and mentor our team”.

“Victoria is an important growth market for our brand as we believe that Michael has all the skills to support our team while also identifying new talent,” Lahood concluded.
