A property veteran with 15 years of experience spanning residential, commercial and corporate real estate has rejoined Highland’s Double Bay office.

Matthew Ettia has joined Highland Double Bay Malouf, alongside his long-term assistant Barbora Allsop, bringing 15 years of real estate experience to the office.

Ettia has held senior roles at TRG and Biller Property, and also worked with Highland in 2017.

The recent appointment comes off the back of substantial growth for the office, including breaking the Darlinghurst apartment record and the sale of 26-27 Olola Avenue, Vaucluse for $45 million.

David Malouf, director at Highland Double Bay, welcomed the appointment, noting that the appointment will strengthen the company’s ability to deliver for its clients.

“It’s great to have Matthew back – it feels like the right time,” he said.

“The team’s been growing quickly off the back of some strong results, and we’ve always said if the right people come along, we’ll make room.

“Matthew knows the area, knows our clients, and knows how we work – so the fit was natural.”

Ettia credited the decision to return with the company’s culture.

“There’s a real energy in the Double Bay Malouf team, and I’ve been watching from a distance for a while now,” he said.

“They’re getting great results, they work as a team, and they’re doing things the right way. Coming back felt like a no-brainer – I’m excited to be part of it.”

The company hopes that the return will support their growth ambitions across Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Founder and managing director of Highland, David Highland, added: “Matthew has a great reputation and a calm, professional approach that clients really value. We’re proud to support his return as the Double Bay team continues to go from strength to strength.”
