Raine & Horne’s new leadership appointment will draw on his vast professional background to competitively position the brand for long-term growth.
Raine & Horne has appointed Benjamin McDonald as its first ever chief strategy officer (CSO), where he will identify and harness new growth opportunities for the network.
McDonald brings over a decade of professional experience across a vast array of industries, including leadership roles within the real estate, energy, urban development and transport sectors of Australasia and North America.
During his most recent role as CSO at US energy technology firm Storz Power, McDonald led the acquisition of major investment support that enabled the company to restructure its development operations and accelerate its growth trajectory.
In his previous role as the CSO of commercial property data firm Arealytics Australia, McDonald secured a strategic investment from a top 20 ASX-listed company, while negotiating a mutual data-sharing agreement that enhanced Arealytic’s operations processes.
Raine & Horne CEO, Chris Nicholl, said McDonald would play an integral role in the development and execution of the brand’s long-term plan for strategic growth in the Australasian real estate market.
“Benjamin’s appointment is part of our broader strategy to continue to grow the business and ensure we’re positioned to deliver exceptional results for our principals, agents, property managers and partners well into the future,” Nicholl said.
Stepping into his new role, McDonald said he was committed to identifying new growth opportunities, and helping to execute Raine & Horne’s “ambitious vision for the future”.
“My focus will be on aligning strategic initiatives with that vision – whether that’s exploring new growth avenues, driving innovation across our network, or enhancing how we collaborate across departments and the delivery of value to our clients and principals,” McDonald said.
Nicholl said McDonald was well-positioned to serve as Raine & Horne’s inaugural CSO, and chart the course towards future business transformation, innovation and long-term growth.
“Benjamin brings a wealth of strategic and operational experience in Australasia and North America, and we’re excited about the energy and ruthless dedication he’ll bring to this new role,” Nicholl concluded.
The new appointment comes during a period of growth for the Raine & Horne network, which earlier this month selected First AML as its new anti-money laundering (AML) compliance partner, ahead of upcoming obligations for real estate professionals that will kick in next July.
