Apollo Auctions’ latest NSW recruit will use his over two decades of industry experience to boost the auction house’s Sydney presence.

Apollo Auctions has bolstered its presence in the NSW market by appointing auctioneer Charlie Powell to its Sydney team.

Over the course of Powell’s 20-plus years of auctioneering experience, he has become widely respected by vendors and agents alike, and was previously named a finalist in the Australasian Auctioneering Championships.

Powell also draws from his past experiences as a stage performer to engage crowds, and consistently delivers above market results in thousands of auctions across Sydney’s inner west, lower north shore, and eastern suburbs.

Speaking on his switch to Apollo Auctions, Powell said he was motivated by the company culture and opportunity to play a key role in the brand’s NSW expansion.

“What I love about Apollo is the culture. There’s energy, there’s quality, and there’s a clear commitment to doing things better. I’m excited to be a part of that,” Powell said.

Apollo Auctions director Justin Nickerson said Powell was a natural fit to join the brand, stating he would help to enhance Apollo Auctions’ NSW auctioneering team.

“Charlie’s depth of experience and ability to consistently deliver premium outcomes aligns perfectly with Apollo’s commitment to being simply world-class in everything it does,” Nickerson said.

Powell’s arrival follows the appointment last month of Apollo’s new head of auctions, Ricky Briggs, who has been leading Apollo Auction’s growth by onboarding leading agencies, and expanding auction volumes across NSW.

Now working alongside Powell, Briggs highlighted that Apollo Auction’s NSW team are well-positioned to expand throughout Sydney.

“We’re not here to blend in, we’re here to elevate the auction experience in Sydney,” Briggs said.

“Adding someone of Charlie’s calibre, with his quality of experience and energy, is a massive win not just for Apollo, but for every agent and seller looking for a competitive edge,” he concluded.
