Sydney Markets Limited has announced the appointment of a new chief executive officer as the brand looks to strengthen its place in the NSW economy.
Anthony Boyd steps into the role as CEO of Sydney Markets, following the end of a 20-year tenure at Frasers Property Group.
With a 30-year career, Boyd has developed a diverse skill set through his roles in real estate, investment, infrastructure, and logistics.
Chair of Sydney Markets Limited’s board, Peter McBride, said that Boyd’s appointment signals the firm’s commitment to strengthening its role in NSW’s economy, logistics, and property sectors while upholding its core values.
“This appointment is a strong step forward for us,” McBride said.
As Australia’s largest fresh wholesale markets, Sydney Markets moves over 2.5 million tonnes of fresh fruit, vegetables, and flowers across NSW and the ACT each year.
Through his new position, Boyd will oversee the continued growth of the market wholesaler.
“I look forward to working closely with the board and management team, our shareholders, tenants, and the broader Markets community to build on the organisation’s proud history and ensure it remains strong and relevant into the future,” Boyd concluded.
Boyd will commence his new position with Sydney Markets on 7 October.
