LJ Hooker has announced the opening of a new office in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs, as the network looks to re-establish its presence in the growing area.

The new office, located in Berwick in the City of Casey, will be led by LJ Hooker Dandenong principal Rohullah Paykari.

It marked the second franchise to operate under Paykari, following the opening of the LJ Hooker Dandenong office back in 2020.

Paykari said the new office would look to capitalise on residential and commercial opportunities and grow its current rent roll as it re-establishes the network’s presence in the region.

“There had been an LJ Hooker office in Berwick for many decades, but it closed a little while ago,” Paykari said.

“The town is popular for people looking for space away from the city, and while it has a quieter, country feel, it comes with all the conveniences of metro living.”

For the time being, the network said the new Berwick office will operate remotely as the business continues to search for a shopfront premises.

LJ Hooker Head of Network Australia, Chris Keating, said that Paykari understood that successful operators need to have more than just sales skills.

“You also need strategies, discipline and, importantly, to build a great team around you,” Keating said.

“He has utilised clever marketing and social media to establish the LJ Hooker brand in the region.”

With the Dandenong office forced to navigate Melbourne’s rolling lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic, Paykari said the business still went through a period of growth, increasing his staff from six to 13 in the first year.

He said that over the years, the office had been attracting prestige property listings and that the region was one the office expected to continue growing.

“Our market is improving and is getting better and better with more investors returning and good affordability for families.”

“It has been hard work getting to this point, and I’m incredibly proud of what we have achieved,” Paykari concluded.
