Harcourts has announced the opening of a new office in Queensland, spearheaded by a returning veteran agent.

The new Harcourts in Chermside, North Brisbane, will be led by returning agent Nick Thornton, who has over four decades of real estate experience, including 22 years with the network.

Thornton, a lifelong resident of Brisbane, has in-depth local knowledge of the area's property market and has over $575 million in settled sales on the city’s northside.

Harcourts said that the Chermside office would focus on agent development and recruitment under Thornton, while continuing to apply his auction process that has yielded a success rate of over 96 per cent.

He said that the network's values were a major factor in his decision to return to Harcourts alongside his wife, Julie.

“Harcourts’ supportive team and shared goals are what drew me back; I’m eager to continue serving the community under this banner,” Thornton said.

“The Harcourts values of people first, doing the right thing, fun and laughter, and being courageous hold a deep meaning to me.”

Harcourts Queensland CEO Andrew Friebe said that the new office would be in a strong position with Thornton at the helm.

“Nick’s extensive experience and dedication to his clients make him a valuable asset to our network,” Friebe concluded.

With a commitment to supporting local community programs remaining a priority for Thornton, the office will continue to sponsor various initiatives.
